Los Troncos, formerly known as "Loma del Tiro de la Paloma" is a traditional neighborhood of the City of Mar del Plata. Its origins date back to the year 1938 in which, on the corner of Primera Junta and Urquiza, a new Swiss-cottage styled house was constructed. After the construction of this little house, the area started to be called "los Troncos" (The trunks). Since this first European influenced house, many others appeared in the neighborhood, eventually evolving into what is today known as the Mar del Plata-styled architecture commonly seen in the City of Mar del Plata.
